Happy Shakespeare Weekend!
Well, it is Shakespeare weekend for us, at least!
This is an abbreviated Bloom Report today, focussed on this weekend's event,
and some important updates about our operating hours.
First of all, an update on the wildfire situation in our region.
Today is another beautiful blue sky day in Annapolis Royal, in spite of the fact that the West Dalhousie / Long Lake wildfire sadly continues to burn on the South Mountain. Occasionally, the winds will bring smoke our way, but thankfully that has been a rare occurrance. We can confirm that the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens remains open for visitors like most communities, businesses and attractions in the region.
Our hearts are with all the evacuees, and those closest to the fire area. Our thoughts are also with all those who are helping to fight this fire - this list is very long involving resources from all around Nova Scotia, and several other provinces. That list is growing and it is heartwarming to have all this help.

The Gardens are open every day (holidays included)
Current operating hours: 9am-5pm. (Last entry at 5pm)
Note that on Sunday, August 24, we will close regular operations at 4:00pm to make way for our final Shakespeare event of the weekend.
And remember: no charge for kids under 18.
Be sure to pick up a scavenger hunt activity for them to work on during your walk!
The Gardens Shop is also open 7 days a week, 9am-5pm.
The Elm Tree Cafe is open daily, 11am - 4pm.

What do these young lads,

these fancy doubloons,

and the Annapolis Brewing Company have in common?

It remains a mystery, soon to be revealed...
