Situate that company in the beautiful seaside community of Pugwash, Nova Scotia and you have Basic Spirit Pewter. Using traditional methods of pewter smithing and high quality, lead free, metal, Basic Spirit creates designs that touch the heart and delight the spirit. Their designs are always fun and inspiring.
Modern pewter, like that made by Basic Spirit, is a metal alloy containing at least 90% tin with smaller amounts of copper, bismuth and/or silver. Pewter will not tarnish like silver or copper but, will slowly oxidize giving it a soft patina.
