Trained as a forest manager, Mr. Watts spent much of his career looking for higher value uses for PEI trees. Seeing what he considered good quality wood being used for firewood, he took it upon himself to learn the craft of wooden pen making. Using his keen eye, many of his pens are salvaged from the firewood pile. On his lathe the wood becomes beautiful, functional art.
